Project Overview

Luckyleaf Tea aims to revolutionize the tea industry by offering a variety pack of teas that challenge the norms and excite the senses. Through this project, we endeavor to create packaging that reflects the adventurous spirit of Luckyleaf Tea and entices potential new customers with its bold flavors and vibrant colors.

Challenges Faced

  1. Developing packaging that stands out on shelves and captures the attention of consumers amidst a crowded market.

  2. Ensuring that the packaging not only looks appealing but also functions effectively, with features such as perforations for easy removal of tea bags and secure closures.

  3. Creating unique dielines for labels, boxes, and wrappers that meet the specific requirements of the campaign items while maintaining consistency across all elements.

  4. Adhering to the detailed technical specifications for each campaign item, including dieline sizes, color profiles, and resolution, to ensure high-quality output.

Project Goal

The primary goal of this capstone project is to design complementary promotional packaging for Luckyleaf Tea's Variety Pack of Teas. This packaging should reflect the adventurous and high-quality nature of Luckyleaf Tea while promoting its most popular varieties to potential new customers. By delivering packaging that exceeds industry standards in typography and design, we aim to elevate the brand presence of Luckyleaf Tea and drive increased interest and sales in its products.

TIMELINE: 3 Weeks

This project is a fictitious scenario, as part of my Graphic Communication degree in at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

Dieline Creation

For this project, we were provided with 20 tea bags and tasked with creating a box capable of securely holding them while allowing for easy access. I designed a robust dieline that accommodates all 20 tea bags and includes a perforated line at the bottom for effortless removal of individual tea bags.

Innovative Tea Bag Illustration Design

For this project, I conducted research on other tea bag samplers. During my investigation, I noticed that most samplers included seeds and bags. However, the client expressed a desire to stand out, aiming for a selection of new, explosive flavors. With this in mind, I created a vibrant tea bag illustration intended to make the product pop among competitors.

I experimented with various colors, assigning a distinct color to each of the five different flavors for the box.

Tea Box

To enhance the visual appeal and attract more customers, I incorporated spot varnish on the tea box. This varnish adds a glossy, tactile finish to specific areas of the packaging, such as the brand logo or key design elements, creating a striking contrast and making these features stand out prominently when displayed on shelves.

Tea Wrappers

I carefully selected a distinct color for each flavor to create a cohesive visual identity. Furthermore, I integrated illustrations on the front of the box to maintain engagement with the new character introduced in this exciting product launch.
